It is very common these days on my ISP that yahoo mail does not load. As we have previously disscused Yahoo’s login problem
Now, on every login, you will be lead to a page which reads – “Ooops. Yahoo! Mail can’t load” Loading Yahoo! Mail failed due to a client side error. The message will instruct you to try clearing browser cache, cookies and as a final way, you will be asked to use Yahoo Mail Classic – the old version which most of you have forgot. Even I get this error a lot of times and here is the very simple way I work out for this.

Yahoo! Mail not accessible

Looking for great solution steps? Nothing like that, simply change the DNS you use to OpenDNS or any other free DNS server. If you are not aware of changing DNS, follow the tutorial for blocked youtube case.

FYI, the DNS server address you have to use in case of OpenDNS:

  • Preferred : 208.67.222.222
  • Alternate : 208.67.220.220

Note: There are also complaints that such error occurs in Firefox browser and is not present in Internet Explorer or Google Chrome.

The transfer of human intelligence to the machine is something the internet makes easy to do. With reCAPTCHA, we keep spammers at bay while helping digitize old books, Amazon’s Mechanical Turk lets us crowdsource small tasks to a dynamic human workforce available on demand, and Google Image Labeler makes the tedious task of tagging fun. Now Yahoo is trying to tap into that human machine through their new VideoTagGame, a game that encourages participants to tag sections within a video for better retrieval.

The first VideoTagGame ran back in summer of 2007 during a Yahoo! party in Amsterdam. Now they’re ready to take their experiment to the public through the Yahoo! Sandbox so they can collect more statistics on its usage.

The objective of the VideoTagGame is to collect time-based annotations of the video which could then enable the retrieval of relevant parts in a video when a search is performed, rather than returning the entire video itself. These annotations are collected in the context of a multi-player game.

How To Play

To play the VideoTagGame, participants must sign in with their Yahoo! ID and join a new game. There will always be at least three players in each game. After a 3-second countdown, the video will begin to play. As it plays, participants enter tags that correspond to the various parts of the video. When two players agree on a tag (that is, they enter the same tag), they each get points. The closer together the tags were entered, the more points are rewarded. After the video ends, participants can then watch as it plays again, this time with the tags overlaid on top of the video.

The game, like Google Image Labeler, can be both fun and challenging for those involved. Think it sounds easy? Don’t be fooled – the other participants are often fast typers capable of of entering nearly a hundred tags during a couple minutes of footage.

The VideoTagGame is a fun time-waster for those who like to play online games. It’s similar to the games at the site Gwap (”games with a purpose”), launched by Carnegie Mellon’s School of Computer Science, as it uses “the human processor,” too. Like the GWAP games, the end result of the VideoTagGame is the possibility of enabling new technology for searching within videos…or your name at the top of the scoreboard…whichever one sounds more exciting to you.

Yahoo Sign In Problems

Posted on October 16, 2008 by Harish Nerella | No Comments

Today I was chatting with my friend using Yahoo Messenger. I logged out due to some reasons and when I tried to logged in again it was showing a window “There was a problem signing into yahoo Messenger! Please try a bit later New User, Sign In Problems, try again”. I tried two or three times, No Success

Then I thought of logging into yahoo mail, It was saying that “Invalid ID or password. Please try again.”

I tried with my wife’s yahoo id and it is working fine without any issues.

I thought of Hacking, Caps lock etc. I planed to recover the password using forgot password

It is asking for two things

1. My Yahoo Id

2. Verify your identity with a previously-used credit card

entered both the information and clicked “Continue”. Then it came with an error message “FEATURE_ERROR_USER_OPEN_NO_ACCESS”, What’s That ?

Had a search using Google and one solution found was to use http://yahoo.co.in but in my case that also failed.

Then I searched again and what I understood is that Yahoo is doing something like migrating accounts or something like that. It will be ok after some times. So waiting for that. Still, after 30 min no Joy

Then I tried to login to the messenger using http://webmessenger.yahoo.com/ Yes, Yes, it worked !!!!!! am happy to know that my id is not hacked

The error “FEATURE_ERROR_USER_OPEN_NO_ACCESS” means

FEATURE_ERROR – the feature from Yahoo! which you are trying to use for that particular ID is unavailable

USER_OPEN_NO_ACCESS – the user ID which you are trying to reset the password cannot be opened for recovery, currently you cannot be allowed access to the specified user ID

Edit:-

Am able to login now, after 3-4 hours

So Dont be panic You will be able to login after sometime. Wait that is the only thing you can do
